Yes — The Grand has a 1.9m interior height, making it the only Epic campervan you can stand up straight in. This is one of the biggest quality-of-life differences on a longer trip. Getting dressed, cooking, and moving around the van feels completely natural rather than cramped.

The FlexRoof is our innovative roof storage and bed system. A slide out platform sits in the roof space and can be pulled out to create a third bed or hitched shut to create a clean storage area for luggage — keeping your entire living space free during the day. It works equally well as a storage solution for two travellers or a sleeping space for three (mattress is an optional extra).

The Grand has the largest bed in the fleet — a fixed full-width double at 2m x 1.55m — with a premium 100mm foam mattress and comfort topper. Unlike other vans in the fleet, it doesn't taper at the foot end, so two people have full width for the entire length of the bed.

The Grand's 200Ah lithium battery and 300W solar panel mean you can live completely off-grid in summer without driving at all. In good conditions it produces enough solar power to run the fridge, lighting, diesel heater, devices, and mains sockets indefinitely. It's by far the most capable off-grid setup in the Epic fleet.

Yes — and more than any other van in the fleet. The Grand has a 2.2kW inverter with three standard NZ/AUS mains sockets, powered by the 200Ah lithium battery. You can run a kettle, toaster (both included) or hairdryer without needing a powered site. It also has a 240V shore power hookup for recharging at powered campsites, however you likely won’t need this.

It's the best campervan in the fleet for winter travel, and the only one we'd confidently recommend for alpine areas or the South Island in winter. The 2.2kW diesel heater warms the van in minutes without needing a powered site. Add the magnetic blackout thermal curtains, fully insulated fibreglass roof, and interior kitchen, and you have a genuinely warm and comfortable setup even on the coldest nights.

It comes with rear automatic braking, rear parking sensors, and a reverse camera — the most comprehensive safety package of any Epic campervan.
